Managing Partner, 46 years old. Peter set up the ING-sponsored Baring Communications Equity Asia (“BCEA”) in 1996 as the first specialized regional media and communication fund under the combined sponsorship of the ING Group and the Singapore Economic Development Board. He was responsible for the general management, investment/divestment strategy of the fund as well as investor relations.

Peter led the spin out of the BCEA team into Crest as an independent regional private equity practice. Since then, he initiated a number of fund mandates which Crest currently manages across the region. Prior to BCEA from 1987, he was with one of the earliest US sponsored VC funds in Asia where he successfully led and participated in many regional IPOs including exits for portfolio companies.

Prior to joining the industry, Mr Chan was with Arthur Andersen & Co, Singapore. Peter holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) Degree from the National University of Singapore, is an Overseas Union Bank Scholar and a Fellow of the both Institute of Certified Public Accountant in Singapore and CPA Australia. Peter is Singaporean, fluent in English, Mandarin and other major Chinese dialects.

   

Investment Partner, 48 years old. TS set up BCEA in 1996 and is the primary Partner overseeing business development and investment activities in South Korea and India.

Prior to joining BCEA, he was a Country Director with Singapore Telecommunications with 17 years of industry and strategic investment experience. TS’s experience includes corporate acquisitions and management; as well as restructuring and IPO exercises in Taiwan and South Korea.

TS was a member of the Singapore Infocomm Development Authority’s Mobile Workforce Solutions Evaluation Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Degree from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology and an MBA from the Manchester Business School. In addition to investing activities, TS’s responsibilities include spearheading setting up overseas presence and offices. He is Singaporean, fluent in English, Mandarin, Bahasa and other major Chinese dialects.

   

Investment Partner, 37 years old. Based in Singapore and China, Caroline joined BCEA in 1997 and has been responsible for activities in China and Taiwan for the past 6 years; with the past 3 years seconded to investee companies in key management positions to oversee operational performance.

She started her career in private equity with a US-sponsored VC fund in 1993 where she gained experience in regional investments and IPOs before moving to Hong Kong to join a China private equity fund sponsored by the Bank of East Asia. Caroline graduated with Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) Degree from the National University of Singapore as a KPMG scholar; she is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst (AIMR).

Caroline is responsible for supervising China investments and Chinese investees launching cross border IPO exercises. She regularly arranges and conducts conferences and seminars with strategic partners in China for the small and medium sized enterprises. She is Singaporean, fluent in English, Mandarin and other major Chinese dialects.

   

Investment Principal, 54 years old. Based in Singapore, Angela has 14 years of experience in venture capital and private equity investing. She was with a US-sponsored VC fund for 6 years in regional private equity investment, with main responsibility as Country Manager for the Philippines. Angela then joined AIDEC Investment Management Co for 2 years, a regional infrastructure development company where she led investments in structured debt and equity project finance deals before joining BCEA in 1997.

She comes with extensive operational experience in one of the largest and leading packaging companies in the Philippines for 11 years. Her last held position was the company’s Deputy General Manager/CFO before joining a Singapore VC fund. Capitalizing on her operating experience, Angela supports investees in the Fund’s value enhancement plans, execute turnaround strategies, implement and improve corporate governance systems, leading investment leverage and IPO exercises.

Angela is a Filipino, a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines, has also passed the Philippine government licensure examination for lawyers. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Fujian and Tagalog.

   

Investment principal, 51 years old. Based in Singapore, Glendon has over 26 years of experience in banking and finance. He was with a number of major local and international Banks managing the SME and Corporate Banking business. He has also wide regional experience with major Corporates, Financial Institutions and has been the Assistant Managing Director in a successful Fishery Business in Singapore. Glendon is responsible for the funds investment portfolio. With his extensive experience, Glendon supports investees in the Fund’s Value enhancement plans, implement and improve corporate governance systems, and assists SMEs in its financial and management control. Prior to joining the Fund, he was a Senior Manager in a European Bank handling its Local SMEs acquisitions program and managing its Russian Exposure. Glendon graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Economics and Chemistry) from the National University of Singapore. He also holds a Diploma in Investment Analysis from Stock Exchange of Singapore (SGX). He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Chinese dialects.

   

Investment Principal, 46 years old. Based in Shanghai/China, David has known Crest for many years and is invited to join Crest recently. He supports deal making functions and investees in executing value enhancement plans. With his combination of operational management, private equity and investee turnaround experience in China, he is well equipped for the task.

Before joining us, his latest private equity positions were with Transpac Capital and China Everbright; his last assignment since 2001 being Deputy General Manager to restructure, turnaround and exit preparation of a US$76mil cement investment. He has successfully divested the investee now.David started work for a Singapore hotel in 1984 and moved to China in 1988 for Holiday Inn hotel start-ups in Chongqing and then in Beijing as Financial Controller.

From 1995 to 1997, he was General Manager of a Shanghai joint venture between Tiger Medical (Singapore listed) and Chinese partners. Here he executed profit improvement plans before subsequently divesting the project through a buy-out by the Chinese partners. David is a graduate in Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. He is Singaporean, lives in Shanghai and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

   

Senior Investment Analyst, 27 years old. Based in Singapore, Katherine is mainly responsible for detailed investment analysis, conducting due diligence and legal documentation and post-investment monitoring.

Prior to that, she was a senior accountant in a local listed company where she is responsible for the preparation and reviewing of consolidation results for the operations in the United Kingdom for the past 3 years. She started her career with one of the big four audit firms where she had 2 years of experience in the external audits of multinationals and Singapore listed companies.

Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University. She is also a non-practising member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. She is fluent in English and Chinese.

   

Investment Analyst, 27 years old. Based in Singapore, Muljadi is mainly responsible to monitor closely the on-going investment performance.

Previously he was working for PT Nestle Indonesia and based in Balikpapan and Samarinda (East Borneo) for the past 3 years managing Nestle business both in modern and traditional market as Head of Area.

Muljadi started his career with Junior Achievement Indonesia (NGO’s) as program director for entrepreneurship training and part time lecturer in accounting studies at Atma Jaya Catholic university Jakarta, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Economics major in Accounting. He is a native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia and fluent in English.

   

Investment Analyst, 24 years old. Based in Singapore and Jakarta – Indonesia. Eric’s responsibilities include financial modelling and feasibility analysis, conducting due diligence exercise, as well as monitoring post-investment performance on Crest’s investment activities both in Singapore and Indonesia. Eric started his career with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney – Australia, where he was responsible for credit analysis, restructuring and portfolio management of the bank’s SME clientele. Prior to joining Crest, Eric was with KPMG Singapore corporate tax team where he looks after the firm MNC clients in corporate tax analysis and reporting.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) – Australia; and a native speaker of both English and Indonesian.

   

Investment Analyst, 30 years old. Based in Shanghai/China, Lin Feng supports Crest’s investment activities in China with responsibilities in creating investment opportunities, deal analysis and market research work, credit and background checks on domestic companies and their management teams. He brings to Crest more than 7 years of experience in investment analysis and China direct investment work.

Prior to joining Crest, he was a Senior Investment Manager with Shanghai Ventures Company Limited where he helped in the identification of investments for the fund, carrying out due diligence checks as well as executing trade sale opportunities. Lin Feng started his career in direct investment when he joined Chengwei Ventures as Associate in 2000.

Lin Feng holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management (International Business) from Fudan University, and is a Level 3 CFA candidate. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese.
